I think the most frustrating this is knowing that one of your really good old friends is going through a rough time and not being able to be there for them. I'm the kind of person that likes to be there, whether it is to offer advice, hugs, a listening ear, or just sit. I'm at this point in my life where I am trying to make new friends in proximity while keeping my old ones 1500 miles away. Something that I learned a long time ago but still hurts everytime a friendship ebbs is this: Friendship takes two, sometimes its easy, sometimes its difficult, but the friends you care to keep you will.
