Illusions

It amazes me how we can so quickly base our opinions on ignorance. The downfall of an online society is that we have the illusion that our opinions are valid and deserve to live forever on the internet. Everyone has the right to their opinion, but not everyone has the same degree of truth behind those opinions. How can we know which ones are better than others? We can't, we can only pause to speak and listen more.

Darkness and Light

"These violent delights have violent ends
And in their triumph die, like fire and powder,
Which, as they kiss, consume."

People are complex. Each of us have a hidden darkness and a hidden light. In fact, we rarely see each other at the pinnacle of each because we hide our extremes. For some of us, our darkness is only a light to medium gray, but what happens when you meet someone with a hidden charcoal darkness. Someone who is good but hides their struggles. Struggles, that perhaps were created when they themselves were young. How do you live with the dichotomy of emotions, both love and disgust? For even after you separate yourself from this person, it is too late. They have already added a deeper shade to the color of your soul.
